A Spider without a Web

An interesting story, wish I could have had named the real characters but then thought of making an attempt to use some common 'creatures'  my followers can relate to; and come out with some learning associated with it.

Here we go...

This is the story of a 'Spider' who wanted to grab flies without weaving a web. The Spider had woven a small web himself for surviving few years back but then realized that he can have a big web and become a 'Big Spider' to rule the spiders' world and have more flies and catches that can be served to him through servants. But, the problem was who would build it for him? The spiders were not ready to do the job as they were self sufficient and happy onto their webs.

Then, was there was a grasshopper- who had come to meet the Spider and upon discussions advised him to form a big web so that he can pick more &; more flies to grow bigger and bigger. And, since spiders were not available for the job, he suggested 'Honey bees' would be the nearest fit as spider may get plenty of bees. The value add, he suggested would be the 'honey' every body aspires for and with honey the flies would offer a great taste for the 'Big Spider'. The Big Spider started day dreaming of 'catches soaked in honey'.

Basis the wise advise, the Spider hired honey 'Bees'  to weave a big web for him. As the bees were successful in collecting nectar from the flowers and nearby fields, with a total life of 6 weeks, and finally transferring the nectar in the beehive to convert the nectar into honey through a process. The additional responsibility for the honeybees was to get silk from outside since the bees does not have 'spinneret glands'.  The spider suggested to hire more grasshoppers and bees to scale up the operation.

So, after that 4000 more bees and about 10 grasshoppers were hired to manage, and to have more silk further 3000 bees were sourced to ensure the grab of every insect that flies in the area, more grasshopper were hired to test it.. bees started the process of creating a big web, grasshoppers enjoying the stay as there would be lot of food around and  'dead' bees became the food of the 'Big Spider' helping him grow bigger and bigger. ..

As the web formation started, it looked great but the 'silk' which was collected from outside had very limited durability because of the release process and re-connection of this 'silk threads'  which the Spiders only specializes on because of the nature . The grasshopper jumped on the web to ensure its safe for the Big Spider, making it weaker, and more grasshoppers making it weaker every day.

The Big Spider was still hanging around his old web, dreaming that he would soon shift to a 'Big Web' he had a dream for couple of years now and has been dreaming of a lot of flies soaked in honey, day and night.

Upon completion of the big web, the bees had moved and the day had come for the spider to become a 'Big Spider'  and move to the 'Big Web'. As soon as he climbed onto the big web, the web collapsed as the weight of the 'Big Spider' had grown many times and the weaker web could not stage the weight of the Big Spider'.

The grasshoppers had realized during this process that its going to break some time, one by one, they had started jumping to other fields to survive and look for another 'Big Spider' who wants to build a 'Big Web' and soon there was no grasshoppers. The bees were already dead or flown after delivering their duties.

Moral:
1- For your survival, dont depend on someone
2- Hire specialized resources for specialized job.
3- Dont think of making  it too big and unrealistic.
